1

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence. Domestic violence happens when one person believes they are entitled to maintain coercive control over their partner. This includes, but isn't limited to: intimate partner violence and dating violence.

2

SEXUAL ASSAULT

Sexual assault is legally defined as "any physical act of a sexual nature that is accomplished towards another person without their consent." Consent is defined as "positive cooperation, it must be freely and voluntarily given, and all participants must have knowledge and understanding of the act." This includes sexual assault and abuse against children.

3

STALKING

Stalking is a series of actions that make a person feel afraid or in danger. Stalking is serious, often violent, and can escalate over time. Stalking is unpredictable and dangerous and situations vary widely. Often confused with harassment, stalking requires the element of fear.
